IMPORTANT BUS INFORMATION

The majority of students attending Monroe arrive to school via school busses. Seventeen busses will transport over 700 of our students on a daily basis. This challenge poses many safety hazards and necessitates compliance with basic rules.

• Students must follow the bus driver's instructions
• No food or drink may be brought on the bus
• Students must remain in their seats at all times
• No object can be thrown on or out of the bus
• No verbal abuse or profanity is allowed on the bus
• Students must keep head, arms, and legs in the bus at all times

Many of our busses have video cameras to record student behavior. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT RIDING THE BUS IS A PRIVILEGE. IF A STUDENT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH BUS RULES, THIS PRIVILEGE MAY BE REVOKED.

There are several designated cross walk areas that MUST remain clear at all times, especially when parents drop off or pick up students. The first two lanes closest to the school are designated bus lanes. CARS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARK IN THESE LANES AT ANY TIME. There are usually enough parking  spaces available in the main parking lot. The bus lanes are available for QUICK drop off or pick up from 7:00am until 2:30pm. Beginning at 2:30pm, busses begin arriving at Monroe. The bus lanes MUST remain open beginning at 2:30. Parents are encouraged to pick up individual students after 3: 10 pm (AFTER BUSSES LEAVE) or access the fairgrounds if a student needs to be picked up between 2:30 and 3: 10.

For the safety of our staff and students, everyone needs to drive 10 MPH on all school roads and in the fairground area. It is especially important to recognize that fairground use is a privilege. Everyone must use the gated entrance at the east end of the fairgrounds and DRIVE SLOWLY.

    ACTIVITY BUS SCHEDULES

Many students are involved in after school activities such as sports, clubs, or help in a subject area.  Those students who normally ride a bus home may take the activity bus  home.  The teachers or supervisors working directly with the students give them an activity bus pass that is good for that day.  The pass is given to the driver as they board the bus.

The activity buses leave Monroe at 4:10p.m.  The activity bus stops are not identical to the regular route stops and students may have to walk further than usual in order to get home.  The following is a list of the stops the activity buses make.
